strengthening our business community
The DDP works to retain and grow businesses in Your Downtown
The Downtown Dayton Partnership is committed to growing the core of downtown Dayton: its business community. The thousands of people who fill our office buildings every day make downtown work. They support amenities, housing and recreational activities. To make downtown a healthy, vibrant community, we must continue to focus on its job base.
Our Retention & Expansion Program
Every year, our staff personally call on approximately 150 businesses downtown, from the one-person enterprise to the 100-employee corporate office. During these meetings, staff members seek not only to build strong relationships with these organizations, but also to proactively address any concerns or problems they face.
Downtown Dayton Leadership Network
We recently supplemented our R&E program with the Downtown Dayton Leadership Network. The Leadership Network is a group of 20 prominent, downtown business leaders who are committed to downtown. In 2008, they began calling on the leaders of key businesses to strengthen their relationships and identify any obstacles these major players face. This peer-to-peer element of the R&E program had been lacking.
With the combined efforts of our regular R&E program and the Downtown Dayton Leadership Network, every downtown business is visited every three years. These individual meetings are important because they give us first-hand accounts of what it's like to do business in downtown Dayton. So look for us pounding the pavement, and if you have a specific question or concern that you would like us to address in the meantime, please contact
